Marissa Q. Coleman Moore, MSW
Leadership Advisor. Master Facilitator. Shift Strategist.
Creator of the SHIFT Methodology™.
Marissa Coleman Moore has spent more than 30 years doing one thing: helping people and organizations move through the moments that change everything.
A proud social worker by trade and training, she is a leadership advisor, master facilitator, and shift strategist — and a women’s champion, justice advocate, and woman of faith whose work is grounded in the belief that people deserve the support to become who they were always meant to be.
Her work spans nonprofit, corporate, education, faith-based, and community systems — with more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector and 15 years as a consultant and business owner. Over the course of her career, she has supported more than 100 nonprofit and philanthropic organizations through critical moments of change and facilitated leadership development experiences for more than 10,000 leaders across the country and abroad.
Before launching her private practice, Marissa served as an Executive Director and Interim CEO for multiple organizations — giving her firsthand experience navigating the very challenges her clients face. She has been the person called in when things get complicated. She knows what organizations look like from the inside.
But here’s what the résumé doesn’t say:
She’s also lived it.
Divorce. Downsizing. Disruption. Relocating four times in two years. Laying off her team. Rebuilding a brand and an identity at the same time. Finding herself single and dating again at nearly fifty. Remarrying. Navigating a blended family, an empty nest, and five adult children — three of her own and two bonus kids she loves as her own. Being the oldest sibling holding the family together through elder care, loss, and the quiet weight of being the one everyone leans on.
Marissa has navigated every transition she now helps others through — including the hardest one: standing on a stage holding a microphone like everything was fine, when it was not fine.
She applied her own methodology to find her way back. And what she discovered on the other side became SHIFT 2.0 — a deeper, more honest version of the work. Not about getting from here to there. About understanding why you stopped in the first place.
That’s what makes this work different. It doesn’t come from a textbook. It comes from a life.
